The BSI Customer Summit took place on November 7 and 8, 2023, this time under the banner of passion. «Connect2Grow» was the motto. The two-day conference was dedicated to networking, sharing experiences and the associated (personal) growth. Together with over 700 guests on site at the GDI and online, we embarked on a journey to share experiences, find connections and grow together.
The over 50 top speakers shared their valuable experiences from CRM, CX and AI projects with the attentive audience, consisting of professionals from sales, marketing, service and IT in the DACH region. The discussions revolved around current marketing and technology trends as well as the experts' individual areas of expertise. Companies such as engelhorn, Stadt Aarau, Degussa Bank, ZHAW, Uelzener, msg, Swiss Life Wealth Managers, Urner Kantonalbank, FrontROW, DPD and admire were strongly represented.
Our takeaways – and yours?
From calm software and simplicity
«Software should be calm.»
Chris Rusche, CTO at BSI.
In his 17th appearance, Christian Rusche presented the upcoming features of the BSI Customer Suite and the many possibilities they will offer with a live demo. The interaction of data, especially in conjunction with AI, software and the corresponding mindset, plays a central role here. In a second presentation, he talked about his three-month trip through Japan. One of the most important things he took with him was «simplicity». Despite the need for innovation and efficiency, he emphasized that simplicity should never be overlooked.
Von der Kundenberaterin zur Superheldin
«We don't want us humans to work for an AI. We want AI to work for us. To achieve this, however, companies need to think carefully about where they will use AI.»
Christoph Bräunlich, Head of AI at BSI.
Even in 2023, many manual processes will still rob us of valuable time and energy that we would rather invest in customer contact. However, there is a helper that could give advisors superpowers in the future. In their presentation "Grow with AI", the two AI specialists Marvin Jensen and Christoph Bräunlich used real use cases to show how this could be implemented in practice. They bridge the gap between humans and AI and explain why, at the end of the day, there are no more excuses not to use artificial intelligence.
Summit's Next Top Use Case
«For me, there is no such thing as perfect automation, because there is always room for improvement.»
Dominik Hofstetter, Co-Lead Data & Insights, BERNEXPO GROUPE
Many good and exciting use cases are created in every masterclass. A new format was therefore launched this year: Summit's Next Top Use Case. Three top participants presented their use cases and the audience was able to vote on who should win the voucher for the BSI Academy. The winner was Dominik Hofstetter, who captivated the audience with his user story on the topic of the Advent calendar. However, the two use cases by Anita Kempf and Tobias Hirte also amazed the audience, making it difficult for them to choose a winner. Although all three use cases were very different, they were inspiring in their own way and provided new inspiration for their own stories.
Collaborating and working together - only difference in words?
«When we show ourselves to be vulnerable, trust will be created.»
Mikael Krogerus & Roman Tschäppeler, Authors and columnists
In their entertaining keynote speech, the two authors and columnists Mikael Krogerus and Roman Tschäppeler gave us an understanding of what good collaboration means and how trust really develops. They used the chalkboard to illustrate what the biggest communication problems can be: A presentation that not only provided inspiration for our own growth, but also allowed us to laugh heartily.
