BSI at the Eclipse Con Europe 2011

20.10.2011

BSI is committed to the Eclipse Scout Project again this year on a broad level: with presentations, an exhibition stand and as a sponsor

The Eclipse Con Europe (formerly the Eclipse Summit) is just around the corner: From November 2nd to 4th, the European Eclipse community will meet in a forum at the Schlosspark in Ludwigsburg. With its “Eclipse Scout” project, BSI Business Systems Integration AG is in the thick of things. At Stand 4, BSI will offer participants a hands-on experience with the latest version of Eclipse Scout and also to meet and talk with many of the faces behind the open source project. As part of the scheduled presentations, BSI’s Andrea Hoegger and Matthias Zimmerman, along with Ralf Sternberg of EclipseSource, will explain how Web applications can be developed using Eclipse Scout in a presentation entitled: “Eclipse Scout features RAP”. In another session, Remo Arpagaus and Matthias Zimmermann will shed light on the smart field, one of the highlights of the Scout GUI components. In a third workshop, Scout beginners will have an opportunity to develop their first Scout client server application in just a few steps.

“Like we do every year, we are really looking forward to the Eclipse Con Europe, where we have the opportunity to meet members of the community in person and more or less in one group. The feedback we receive and exchanges we have are extremely valuable for our work,” noted Matthias Zimmermann, Project Lead for Eclipse Scout at BSI.

Scout was established by BSI around ten years ago as a development platform on a Java basis and continuously further developed since then. Scout serves as a central platform for BSI applications, such as BSI CRM, which now runs on 20,000 workstations in 60 countries and in 28 application languages. Modern and user-friendly business applications can be developed using Scout with very little effort. As an Eclipse Project, Scout has been an official component of the annual Eclipse Release Train since 2011.
